Using the file sharing system built-in to your operating system is a fast and
simple way to access your U-Storage account. However, this service is only available
for computers located on the UCSB network.
File Sharing Setup
To connect your MacOS X system to U-Storage, you'll need to go to the Finder and
follow the menu Go -> Connect to Server.... This will bring up the following
window where you'll need to specify the server address.
| Server address: |
smb://ustorage.ucsb.edu/[UCSBnetID] |
Once you click Connect you'll be prompted for your UCSBnetID and password:
Fill these in and click OK. Your U-Storage account will then show up
as a remote storage device on your desktop. You can use it just like you would
any other MacOS volume.
